You’re My Horcrux!

I stumbled upon a sudden thought

Brought on by thoughts of you

That maybe you and I have always been

Bound by more than anyone knew.

It was not so long ago

That we talked for hours into the night,

And was it not but recently

We talked the night away into first light?

Is it not true that you and I fight

But fights that never seem to last?

Is it not true that you and I know

How best to pierce with the most hurtful dart?

Have we not seen the others’ most

Absurd behaviours and laughed as one?

Nor seen glistening sorrows in our eyes

And comforted till there were none?

Has not the night sky our secrets heard

Shared across distances vast?

Have we not guessed without words,

What thoughts churn within our hearts?

So tell me how it could not be,

That you really are a part of me?

The missing half of my splintered soul,

The accidental Horcrux keeping me whole.

    1. Thank you! I’m quite surprised at it, since I literally did just stumble upon this thought! So glad you like it! And well, it is a tribute, but a silent one. Thank you for the appreciation, though. It truly means a lot. 🙂

  2. Reblogged this on Manan Unleashed and commented:
A must reblog for anyone who understands splintered souls and the yearning thereof. Not to mention, is a diehard Harry Potter fan. 🙂 My dear friend Ruth here has come up with a Horcrux of a poem!!

    1. I never really thought about it while writing, but as you and Krys have pointed out, yes it really is something all of us would say of someone who is that special to us. Thank you for writing in and for your enlightening comment! 🙂
