Bewildered by Appreciation

My dear friends, these words go out to all of you who have so generously shared with me your time and opinions, and have made me welcome here, in this space. I am a very new writer, but I have had the absolute pleasure of reading so many brilliant creations by all of you. They were a delight and your art makes me well-nigh speechless. I thank you all for your kind words and look forward to continuing our friendship, through our future endeavours. Thank you all! 🙂

 

Sometimes there is nothing in my head

I wonder what to write

Then I wander over to read

The words of my friends

Those wonderful people, poets, raconteurs all;

My mindscape brightens

Flung into vats and vials

Pensieves and mirrors

Full to the brim with

Memories, feelings, moments in time

Barrels worth of lived experiences

Barrel-riders all!

What a delightful metaphor for life!

Each war and peace, every calm and strife,

Every piece of creation on the edge of a knife

Fought, conquered and laid out

For the world to see

What inspiring bravery!

These my teachers are,

Guides, friends, mentors from afar.

If feelings were notes

Perhaps I could better show

How high you raise me

When I’ve been low

But words come easier to me than speech

And music is still a language;

So, bewildered by appreciation, I raise

These words to you, in toast, and praise.
